Which documents can I order online, and which need a quote?
Standard registry documents — civil status, criminal records, residence certificates, commercial register and land registry extracts — have flat prices and order online. Files needing case work (diplomas, tax and pension attestations, historical research, notarial copies) go through a free quote answered within one business day.
Can I order documents for someone else?
For yourself always; for direct family in defined cases (children, estates) with proof of relationship; criminal record extracts only ever for yourself. Where an authorisation is required, we provide the template with your order confirmation.
What information do I need to have ready?
Each document page lists its checklist. The recurring trio: full names as registered, the relevant place (origin, marriage, seat…), and a copy of your ID. Missing a detail like your commune of origin? We locate it — that’s part of the job.
What if the authority rejects or can’t issue my document?
Then you pay nothing for what wasn’t delivered: we refund the document price, keeping only costs already irreversibly incurred with third parties, which we document. It’s rare — we flag risky requests before you pay.
How long until my document arrives?
Criminal records typically 3–5 business days plus shipping; civil status and registers 5–10; apostille adds 3–5. Swiss registered post is included; DHL Express (+CHF 49) reaches most of the world in 2–4 days.
Do you deliver outside Switzerland?
Everywhere — registered international post included in every price, DHL Express as the fast option. Tracking numbers come by e-mail the day of dispatch.
Can documents go directly to a third party?
Yes — notary, evaluator, university, embassy: name the recipient in the order and we dispatch there with your reference, confirmation to you.
When do I need an apostille?
Whenever a Swiss document must convince an authority in another Hague Convention country — visas, weddings abroad, foreign registrars. One checkbox (+CHF 149) and we route the document through the competent chancellery.
What about countries outside the Hague Convention?
Then embassy legalisation replaces the apostille — a longer chain we know well. Request a quote naming the destination and we’ll map the route and price.
Can you translate the documents too?
Yes — certified translations in 40+ languages bind to the document and travel in the same shipment. Quoted per document, bundled with retrieval and apostille.
How do I pay?
Card or TWINT at checkout, secured by Stripe; the invoice arrives as PDF with your confirmation. Quote-based files are payable by card, TWINT or bank transfer.
What happens to my data and ID copy?
Used solely to obtain your document from the authority concerned, transmitted only to that authority, stored on Swiss-hosted systems, deleted on schedule. Swiss data-protection law (nFADP) applies — details in our privacy policy.
