Certificate of residence vs. certificate of domicile — which one?

Residence attests where you currently live; domicile attests your legal domicile (which can differ, e.g. weekly residents). Banks usually want residence; tax matters often want domicile. Name the requesting institution — we order the right one.

How recent must it be?

Most institutions require issue within the last 3 months; some banks say 30 days. We order fresh at your chosen moment, not from stock.

Can you get it if I’ve already left Switzerland?

Then you need a deregistration confirmation or residence-history attestation, which the commune also issues — see our residence history page or mention it in the order notes.
